The hotel has been seamlessly integrated into one side of Megalohori, incorporating the ancient cellars that have been sensitively restored. Sunken pathways guide the way to the subterranean cave restaurant, a well-stocked wine cellar and the world class Elios Spa. The architecture pays homage to the traditional fortified Greek village that still stands strong today where indigenous elements have influenced the décor and the carefree Grecian hospitality encourages a causal, barefoot philosophy.

Offering views of a volcanic caldera and the Aegean Sea, this sophisticated resort is 6 km from the boutiques and restaurants of Fira and 10 km from the ruins of Ancient Thera.

This century-old neoclassical Eliopoulos’ Mansion, originally a captain’s house, was designed by celebrated Greek decorator Aggelos Aggelopoulos. Incorporating the customary Cycladic colors combination, he has given the villa an authentic, modern feel that reflects the culture that 19th Century ship owners—arriving from travels abroad—brought to Santorini.
